Join HBRACC and the MassHire Cape & Islands Workforce Board for the 10th Anniversary of Residential Construction Career (RCC) Day, a half-day workforce development event connecting Cape Cod students with the professionals who build, design, supply, and support the residential construction industry.

RCC Day brings approximately 300 students who have expressed an interest in the trades together with local industry professionals to explore the many career pathways available throughout residential construction.

Unlike a traditional job fair, RCC Day is built around hands-on experiences, real conversations, and career exploration. Students rotate through six zones throughout the morning, meeting professionals from a variety of trades and industry sectors and getting opportunities to try, build, solve, ask questions, and learn what different careers actually look like.

Whether your company is actively hiring or simply wants to invest in the future of Cape Cod's workforce, there is a place for you at RCC Day.

Two Ways to Get Involved

Become an Exhibitor | $100

Show students what you do by creating an interactive exhibit that brings your profession to life.

We encourage exhibitors to go beyond a traditional table display and give students something to build, try, touch, or solve. That could mean operating equipment, demonstrating tools, reading plans, working with materials, completing a trade-specific challenge, or creating a small hands-on project.

Need ideas? Activities can be as simple as a tape-measure challenge, tool identification station, PPE matching game, or blueprint activity, or as involved as building a mini wall, wiring a low-voltage circuit, assembling PVC piping, laying out tile, or demonstrating a construction skill.

As an exhibitor, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Showcase your company and profession through a hands-on activity or demonstration
• Introduce students to career pathways within your trade or industry
• Talk honestly about education, training, certifications, career growth, and what a typical workday looks like
• Connect with students interested in learning more about your field
• Discuss internships, apprenticeships, job shadows, co-ops, summer employment, and other opportunities
• Help students envision a future in Cape Cod's residential construction industry

Each exhibitor will also receive a student sign-up sheet to help capture contact information from students who are genuinely interested in learning more about your company or trade. Exhibitors are encouraged to follow up after RCC Day and offer an appropriate next step.

Companies are encouraged to participate whether they have current job openings or not. While some employers may make immediate hiring connections, every exhibitor helps students better understand the opportunities available within the industry.

Become an RCC Day Ambassador | FREE

You don't need an exhibit to make an impact.

RCC Day Ambassadors serve as point people for a group of students and their chaperone throughout the event. Ambassadors help keep their group together, informed, engaged, and on schedule as students rotate through all six zones.

You'll welcome your students, help them navigate the event, encourage them to ask questions and participate in activities, and help create an engaging experience throughout the morning.

Ambassadors arrive at 8:00 AM, receive a two-way radio and event instructions, connect with their assigned student group, and guide them through the day's rotations.

This is a great option for industry professionals who want to support RCC Day and interact directly with students without preparing a full exhibit.

RCC Day Is Just the Beginning

A conversation at RCC Day can be the beginning of a much longer connection between your company and Cape Cod's future workforce.

Not every student is ready for an internship or job today, and hiring isn't the only way businesses can get involved. After RCC Day, participating companies can continue engaging with students and local schools through:
